National Risk Assessment (NRA)
The purpose of the National Risk Assessment (NRA) is to provide a comprehensive analysis of Gibraltar's strengths and weaknesses in combating money laundering terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. It identifies both existing and emerging risks, assessing their potential impact on the financial system. The NRA helps to map these risks effectively, enabling authorities to prioritise actions and resources to address vulnerabilities and enhance the jurisdiction’s overall resilience against economic crime.
The GFIU’s strategic analysis plays a crucial role in the drafting of the NRA, providing insights into the latest typologies, emerging risks, threats, and identified vulnerabilities. This analysis helps ensure that the NRA is based on up-to-date intelligence, enabling a targeted and effective approach to mitigating economic crime risks in Gibraltar.
